The details that make it feel finished.
A deck is only half the picture. Railing shapes how a space feels, and lighting decides whether you're still out there after the sun's gone down. Both are part of how I plan a deck from the start, not something bolted on at the end.

Trex Signature railing. Part of the deck, not an add-on.
Railing comes up on almost every raised deck I build. It's the first thing you see, and it decides whether a deck looks finished or half-done. As a TrexPRO Platinum installer, I fit Trex Signature aluminium railing, the same brand as the decking, so the whole thing reads as one considered space rather than a deck with a rail bolted on.
Same brand as the boards
Trex railing on a Trex deck, so the rail and the boards read as one piece.
Balusters or glass
Square aluminium balusters or glass panels, with matching aluminium gates.
Two matte finishes
Charcoal Black or Classic White. Glass railing comes in Charcoal Black.
Built to last
Powder-coated aluminium that resists fading and corrosion, backed by Trex's 50-year Limited Warranty.
The options.
Signature comes in more than one form. These are the ones to choose between.

Ellumière deck lighting. What happens after dark.
I fit Ellumière lighting, supplied through Birkdale, mostly spotlights set into step edges, posts and balustrades, planned in with the deck so it looks like part of the build.
Spotlights, deck lights and bollards
Small and large spotlights, deck lights set into the boards and bollard lights, in black or stainless steel.
Low voltage
One outdoor transformer takes 240V mains down to 12V for the whole run of lights.
Warm white
Warm white bulbs: soft light for evenings outside, not a security-light glare.
Part of the plan
Steps, posts and the deck edge worked out with the design, not added once it's built.
The parts.
The lights run off a 12V cable from an outdoor transformer, joined with T-piece connectors, so the layout is planned as one circuit.

One build, one standard.
Railing and lighting go onto the same build as everything else. Every deck I build uses UC4 pressure-treated joists and Trex Protect joist tape as standard, and ground-level decks sit on plastic subframes on a concrete raft foundation.

Questions about railing and lighting.
Is the railing the same brand as the decking?
Yes. I fit Trex Signature aluminium railing, so the rail and the boards come from the same system. I install the decking and the railing as one job.
Do railing and lighting cost extra?
They're priced alongside the deck from the start, not added on once it's built. Tell me what you're picturing and I'll plan them in.
Can you add railing or lighting to a deck I already have?
Send me a few photos on WhatsApp and I'll tell you honestly what's possible.
Do you build by the water?
Yes. Waterside gardens on the Norfolk Broads and the coast are a big part of the work I do across Norfolk and Suffolk.
Where this fits.
Want railing or lighting worked into the plan?
Tell me what you're picturing and I'll plan it in with the deck from the start.
